My major area of responsibility for Burlington Coat Factory was working on our Intranet site (Internal website). This project involved taking the existing disparate corporate intranet sections and designing and implementing a unified set of standards for the content, look and navigation. This was difficult as before this point there were no set standards and each department was responsible for creating its own section resulting in an internal site that looked like a collection of random sites found on the internet (BEFORE the redesign) . At the same time we implemented a content management system called Oracle Portal. The final site was called the "Employee Portal" with a "Stores Portal" version that had a more restricted access to content for security reasons.
Specific aspects of this project included organizing over-all site content, working with specific departments or groups to redesign their particular group homepage, content creation and layout for specific pages, creating an attractive and navigable header, creating an attractive generic page style that could work with existing pages and anticipate future page development, applying the newly created content standards to the existing disparate department pages, creation of graphics in Photoshop, creating a CSS style sheet, designing and coding of HTML portions of the site, learning and then creating pages with Oracle Application Server Portal 10g, and finally maintenance of the new intranet site and enforcement of the new design and content standards.

We are in the process of redesigning the scattered approach to the content on the homepage by organizing reoccurring content and restricting the use of boxes and images. At same time we are giving the look and feel a cosmetic overhaul to freshen up the site. Our earlier implementation of coding standards and stylesheets has greatly reduced the amount of work needed to accomplish this.

This was a baby registry program through which customers could create or access a baby registry by themselves in the store. I designed its friendly customer oriented interface that is attractive, easy to use and has simple yet logical navigation. Since it ran on a touch-screen kiosk, I applied specific design concepts such as controlled content flow and navigation, minimal content, content centered in middle of the screen, large navigation controls and uncluttered page layouts.

Cohoes is an upscale famous label fashions subsidiary of BCF. I was in charge of redesigning their site.

While most of my group's work revolved around the internal site we did start looking at redesigning the external site. The external site has two sides to it, an corporate informational half and a limited online store half. Here is a design mock-up exploring several ideas we had for a new homepage.

This was a mini-site for the purposes of employee training, particularly for newly hired employees in the stores. Employees would pick an online training course and this would be the separate window that would display it. We wanted the look and feel to be unique but clearly related to the existing Portal site.

These are some banner ads that would appear on other sites promoting Gateway products. The challenge with these was to create an interesting banner with very tight file size and branding restrictions. Most of these have at least two rotating frames and fit under 12 K.

I worked on various page designs including laying out content and creating graphics for product pages and even working on the Gateway.com redesign project. Here is an example of one of the Gateway.com homepage ideas I came up with.
I have a variety of interests that I end up creating graphics for. These include digital artwork, graphics for use in online computer games, photo manipulation, 3 dimensional maps and personal games. I also do more traditional artwork.
